Bill was born and has lived the majority of his life
in Bardstown, Ky. In 1972, he graduated from Bardstown
High School and went on to attend Western Kentucky
University, where he lettered 4 years on the University's
baseball team. He graduated in 1976 with a BS degree
in Business Administration. After managing an insurance
company in Bowling Green for 7 years, Bill moved back
to Bardstown with his beautiful wife Linda, whom he
has been married to for 30 years and they have two
grown children, Megan and Wesley.
The past 26 plus years, Bill has been the sales leader
at Conway-Heaton Automotive. For 8 years until 2009,
Bill and Linda owned and operated Still Bill's Restaurant
here in Bardstown. He also spent the past 12 years
as a Bardstown City Councilman, where he chaired the
Safety (Police and Fire Depts) and Housing Committees.
He was also an active member of the Utilities Committee
and Joint City-County Recreation Board.
Bill's statewide affiliations include being appointed
as an Executive Board Member of the Kentucky League
of Cities and is also beginning his second tenure
as President of the Kentucky Black Caucus of Local
Elected Officials (KBC-LEO). In March of 2011, Bill was also appointed by Governor Steve Beshear to the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council. Locally, Bill's many
affiliations include:

Bardstown Kiwanis Club Member since 1988
In the November 2010 General Election,
Bill was elected as the first African-American Mayor
of the City of Bardstown. Bill feels two of his greatest
assets as Mayor are his knowledge of this city,
having been both an employee and an employer here
and his 12 years experience as a Bardstown City Councilman,
where he has developed a great understanding of the
inner workings of our local government. But most importantly,
Bill feels his common sense approach to problem-solving
will be his greatest strength in tackling the challenging
issues that the City of Bardstown faces today and the
upcoming future.
