The City of Bardstown has owned and operated an electric distribution system for its citizens since 1906. In the early days of electricity, the City Council decided that it was better for the town to own and control its utilities, rather then depend on outside corporations. The current Electric Department is comprised of a City Electrical Engineer, an Electric Superintendent, and four Electric Linemen.
The Electric Department maintains miles of electric lines, which serve 4,366 residential, commercial, and industrial customers in Bardstown. |
